If you recall, I put myself on a shopping ban a month of ago to the date. And the ban has officially ended! I can honestly say I did not buy anything during the ban. It takes quite a bit of discipline, but I'm glad I did it. I know I saved a good chunk of change. I think a ban is no longer necessary because I realized how excessive I was being and changed my ways. It's all about self-control and I think from this haul, you will see that I'm not the same shopper I once was.
A few days ago, 3 new collections came out for MAC. Everyone's been waiting for Electroflash so I had to see what the fuss was about. Well, the duos were very beautiful, but I didn't pick up any. I really don't wear eyeshadow often (you can tell from my lack of FOTDs). I have plenty of shadows that I don't use enough as is and I didn't want to add to it. Though, duos that were particularly appealing to me were Fresh Green Mix, Love Connection, and Two to Glow.
The Sonic Chic collection was of my greatest interest. 9 gorgeous face colors, how could I resist, especially after not buying anything for a month! They were all so gorgeous and I ended up walking away with only ONE! I got Dainty, a dusty pink with gold shimmer which gives it a peach undertone. I was able to swatch all the colors and some are definitely more pigmented than others. I believe Merrily is extremely pigmented as was Love Joy. I almost got Nuance too, a pretty golden peach. I only got one because I am going to get an advanced brush set from the Nordstrom Colour Forums collection and maybe one of the highlighters later this month. However, I am really lemming Gleeful, Gentle, and Warmed Soul. I think I might just get 1 more to feel satisfied, lol :P
I have never tried any Mineralize Skinfinishes, so I was curious to see the New View collection. I know many girls rave about MSFs so I picked up one in Light Medium. Like others have reported, the duo is not split evenly and contains less shimmer. I think the duo is a great idea since you can customize the amount of shimmer with each use. So far, I really like it.

yup love joy was definitely pigmented. I'm on the fence about it whether or not I should return it or not. and nuance... it's pretty as well but I have something similar to it kinda already. so I dunnoooooooooooo. so confused. The only MES that I really like was the fresh green mix. i have a ridiculous amount of makeup as well. it makes me sick sometimes LOL.
also, can you do a tutorial on how you did your watermark? it's soo cute! I can't get mine to have colors like yours.

well i have to now, since i just won myself the 88 color palette from Ebay for £16.98 (including 4.99 for p&p)!! cost about the same buying from coastal scents but im boycotting from coastal scents anyway :P So funny, the company i bid from is from the same area where I live!! xD

I keep wanting to pick up one of the eye shadow duos, but I've been very strict on myself on what makeup I will buy, as I've been trying to stick to only mineral makeups from indy companies, but MAC is my first love of makeups! I can't help but ooh and ahh over their lippies and eye shadows.
WoW, Dainty is so pretty ! I saw Nuance at nic nic's blog and I thought that was pretty too. I tried so hard to not buy any of Sonic chic and Electroflash, instead of that I got something bigger lol it will come pretty soon :D I'm proud of you did your mission about shopping ban ! All these swatches on MES and blushes are soo tempting. Dainty looks lovely but a tad lighter for my skintone, Gentle would probably look better on me.

Jie jie: Thanks :) Yes, Dainty is a bit light and not as pigmented as some of the other blushes for sure.

I told myself no more shopping, but I keep on buying. Thankfully, I'm buying drugstore brand instead of MAC. I want to hold off until the winter palettes. I love their end of the year palettes. :D Dainty is really tempting though... eek~ :P

I acutally bought Dainty yesterday cause I've been using All Dressed as my HG blush for way too long. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm really excited to see how it looks on me! I wanted to pick up something from the New View collection, but since I'm waiting for my Sephora haul to arrive, I'm gonna pass...for now. haha. Congrads with having success with your shopping ban. God knows I won't be able to handle it.
I swatched everything until my hands were all colors of the rainbow, and still ended up with nothing but the 189 brush (and yes, it is amazing! :P).
I think I might be catching something...no new MAC despite having THREE collections at the same time?!
