The wonderful thing about makeup is that a little goes a long way. It's very easy to enhance your eyes with just a small amount of effort. One thing I do always even if I don't wear foundation is curl my lashes. I even carry a curler with me in my bag. Curling your lashes can open up your eyes instantly and I recommend doing so at the very minimum of your daily beauty routine.
This is how I enhance my eyes:
* I use a neutral shade over the lid and highlight the brow bone. One of my favorite neutral colors to use is pink. I'm not talking like bright, hot pink but a golden pink with a hint of brown tone. It's just enough color to be noticeable but soft enough to look very natural. Shadow also gives my monolids more depth.
* I line my top lash and slightly wing it out. The wing creates the illusion of a bigger eye. I use black, brown, or navy on the top and any color except black to line on the bottom. I think black is just too bold for the bottom. I usually use shadow to line the bottom because it's soft. Lining your eye gives it definition and a distinct shape. But don't try to connect the top and bottom. Leaving it unconnected opens up and widens the eye.
* I use a shimmery white pencil for my inner corner. It brightens up the eye, making you look fresh and alert. It's like an instant pick me up.
* I curl my lashes. Again, curling makes such an impact. It makes your eye rounder and more feminine. I also use mascara on top and bottom. You could even put on a false pair of lashes.
Pretty simple right? It can be done in less than 10 minutes. It's quick & easy and I think it makes a big difference. Hopefully you'll be able to see the difference in the pictures below. Sorry if I look a little cross-eyed, lol. These were taken in natural lighting without any flash.
What I used:
* Revlon Creme Shadow (dark pink shade as base)
* Painted Laydies pigment in Tramp (lid)
* Painted Laydies pigment in Ice Cappucino (highlight)
* L'oreal HiP eyeliner in Midnight Blue (top liner)
* Painted Laydies pigment in Morrigan (bottom liner)
* N.Y.C. Highlighter pencil in Miss Sparkle (inner corner)
* Max Factor Lash Perfection Waterproof mascara
